Security
You use the Security tab to manage system passwords, including
user passwords, Automated Attendant passwords, and the Administrator
password.
To Change the Administrator Password
1. Click the System Configuration icon.
2. Click the Security tab.
3. In the fields provided, type the current password
and the new password. Type the new password again in the Re-enter
New Password field.
4. Click the Apply button. The new password takes effect.
Reset User Password
Use the Reset User Password button in the Security tab to reset
the password of a user who has forgotten his or her personal user
password.
The password is reset to the user's telephone extension. After
resetting the password, you should instruct the user to change
this to a new password as soon as possible to ensure system security.
To Reset the User Password
1. Click the System Configuration icon.
2. Click the Security tab.
3. Click the Reset User Password button. The Reset
User Password window appears.
4. Select the user from the list.
5. Click Reset. The password is reset to the user's
telephone extension.
6. Click Cancel. The Reset User Password window closes.
Change Auto Attendant Password
Use the Auto Attendant Password button on the Security tab to
change the password for the Auto Attendant.
To Change the Automated Attendant Password
1. Click the System Configuration icon.
2. Click the Security tab.
3. Click the Auto Attendant Password button. The Change
Auto Attendant Password window appears.
4. In the fields provided, type the current password
and the new password. Type the new password again in the Re-enter
New Password field.
5. Click the OK button. The new password takes effect.
The Change Auto Attendant Password window closes.
Change System Backup Password
You use the System Backup Password on the Security tab to change
the System Backup password. The System Backup Password enables
automated backups from an external system.
To Change the System Backup Password
1. Click the System Configuration icon.
2. Click the Security tab.
3. Click the System Backup Password button. The Change
System Backup Password window opens.
4. In the fields provided, type the current password
and the new password. Type the new password again in the Re-enter
New Password field.
5. Click the OK button. The new password takes effect.
Change Reporting Password
You use the Reporting Password button on the Security tab to change
the Reporting password. This password is used in conjunction with
NBX 100 Call Reports, an optional component of the NBX 100 system.
To Change the Reporting Password
1. Click the System Configuration icon.
2. Click the Security tab.
3. Click the Change Reporting Password button. The
Change Reporting Password window opens.
4. In the fields provided, type the current password
and the new password. Type the new password again in the Re-enter
New Password field.
5. Click the OK button. The new password takes effect.
The Change Reporting Password window closes.
