Configuring the Automated Attendant using NetSet
You use NetSet to configure and manage your Automated Attendant
greetings and menu trees. You use an NBX telephone to record and play back system greetings.
Creating and Modifying Automated Attendants
You can create new Automated Attendants and modify existing
Automated Attendants through the Automated Attendant dialog box.
To Create a New Automated Attendant
1. Open NetSet using the administrator username and password.
2. On the main menu, click the APX Voice Messaging
icon.
3. Click the Auto Attendant tab.
4. Click on the Add button. The The Auto Attendant
- Add dialog box appears.
5. Enter a Name for the Automated Attendant.
6. Enter an Extension for this Automated Attendant.
7. If you want this Automated Attendant to use System-wide Greetings, click the System-wide Greetings checkbox.
8. Click OK.
9. In the Auto Attendant dialog box, click the Menu
Tree button to configure the main menu and any submenus for this Automated Attendant. See Configuring
Automated Attendant Menus.
10. After configuring the menus and prompts for the
Automated Attendant, be sure to activate it in the Automated Attendant dialog box.
To Modify an Automated Attendant
1. Open NetSet using the administrator username and password.
2. On the main menu, click the APX Voice Messaging icon.
3. Click the Auto Attendant tab.
4. The Auto Attendant dialog box appears. Use this
dialog box to add and modify your Automated Attendants and system greetings.
Creating and Modifying System-wide
Greetings
You use the System-wide Greetings button in the Automated Attendant
dialog box to record and schedule the system-wide Time-dependent greetings:
Morning Greeting, Afternoon Greeting, and Evening Greeting.
Each Automated Attendant menu can be assigned any or all of
these system-wide Time-dependent greetings. Note that you can also create and use
Time-dependent Greetings that are specific to a specific Automated Attendant.

To Manage System-wide Greetings
1. Click the APX Voice Messaging icon in the main menu.
2. Click the Auto Attendant tab.
3. Click the System-wide Greetings button. The System-wide Greetings screen appears.
4. To record a greeting, click its Record button.
5. To play a greeting, click its Play button. If desired, change the time of day when a greeting takes effect
and then click the Apply button. The changes take effect.
6. When done, click OK. The System-wide Greetings screen closes.
Managing Time-dependent Greetings
To Add a Time-Dependent Greeting
You can add a new Time-dependent greeting to an Automated Attendant.
To add a new Time-dependent greeting:
1. Click the APX Voice Messaging icon.
2. Click the Auto Attendant tab.
3. Select an Auto Attendant menu from the list.
4. Click the Menu Tree button. The Menu Tree window
appears.
5. Click the TD Greetings button. The Time-dependent
Greetings screen appears.
6. Click the Add button. The Add Greeting screen appears.
7. Type a name for the greeting.
8. Enter a Start Time for the greeting. This is required.
9. (Optional) Select the days of the week when the
greeting is to be used.
10. (Optional) Enter a Start Day and an End Day when
the greeting is to be used.
11. Click the OK button. The Add Greeting screen closes
and the Time-dependent Greetings screen appears. The new prompt is displayed in the prompt list.
12. To record the new time-dependent greeting, highlight
the name of the greeting, then click the Record icon below the
list. The Play/Record Extension rings. Lift the handset and follow the voice prompts to record and save the greeting.
